How to move a guest to a different bed

Explanation

Shifting allows you to move a guest from one bed to another without checking them out.

Step 1: Ensure the target bed is available.

Step 2: Navigate to the guest's current assignment.

Step 3: Click "Shift Guest" option.

Step 4: Select the new bed from available options.

Step 5: Confirm shift - old bed becomes available, new bed becomes occupied.

Billing continues seamlessly with the shift recorded in guest history.

When This Applies

  • Guest requests room/bed change.
  • Maintenance required on current bed.
  • Upgrading or downgrading accommodation.
  • Both beds must be in the same property.

Common Mistakes

  • Manually vacating and reassigning instead of using shift.
  • Not checking if target bed is truly available.
  • Forgetting to update billing if bed rates differ.
  • Shifting to a bed in a different property (not allowed).
