SheenLink supports two types of booking: room-level and bed-level. Understanding the difference is crucial for proper inventory management.

Room-level booking: The entire room is booked as a single unit. All beds in that room become unavailable.

Bed-level booking: Individual beds within a room can be booked separately. Other beds in the same room remain available.

Step 1: Determine if your property rents entire rooms (like private rooms) or individual beds (like dormitories).

Step 2: Configure your property settings to enable the appropriate booking type.

Step 3: Set pricing at the room level or bed level accordingly.

When This Applies

  • Room-level applies to: Private rooms, family rooms, couple rooms.
  • Bed-level applies to: Dormitories, shared rooms, hostel beds.
  • You can have both types in the same property (e.g., private rooms + dorms).
  • The booking type is set during room creation and cannot be changed if bookings exist.

Common Mistakes

  • Using bed-level booking for private rooms - this allows partial room bookings.
  • Using room-level booking for dorms - this prevents efficient bed utilization.
  • Not setting clear pricing rules for each booking type.
  • Trying to change booking type after guests are assigned.
